Roky Erickson & The Aliens - The Evil One

Album Of The Day:

Roky Erickson & The Aliens - The Evil One (1981)

Comments: What a psychedelic gem. This is the second solo album by Roky Erickson the front man of the psychedelic 60's group 13th Floor Elevators. This album contains some of the best songs about Vampires, Zombies, Demons, Ghosts, Bloody Hammers and insanity perhaps ever recorded. Underrated and a must have for Halloween.

Favorite Tracks:
Two Headed Dog (Red Temple Prayer)
I Think Of Demons
Creature With The Atom Brain
Bloody Hammer
Cluck Your Fingers Applauding The Play
If You Have Ghosts
Night Of The Vampire
I Walked With A Zombie

Happy Halloween.

Tegan And Sara - Sainthood

Album Of The Day:

Tegan And Sara - Sainthood (2009)

Comments: What an indie rock gem. Today was my first time listening to Sainthood. The lastest album by Tegan and Sara. They continue to impress. The production is still in the hands of Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie but unlike the last album The Con it sounds less like a Death Cab album and more like a different project which is more original to itself, this pleases me. So far the two tracks that stand out the most our the opener "Arrow" and the sophmore track "Don't Rush."

Favorite Tracks:
Arrow
Don't Rush

Wye Oak - The Knot

Album Of The Day:

Wye Oak - The Knot (2009)

Comments: What an indie rock gem. This album has been in constant rotation for the past week as far as my listening habits go.

Concert: I saw them play earlier this evening at Lincoln Hall. I was told it was the tenth show Lincoln Hall has held. I was extremely impressed with the show and venue. The amount of sound of that came out of this duo was unbelievable. The drummer played both drums and keyboards simultaneously.

Favorite Tracks:
For Prayer
Take It In
That I Do

Album Of The Day:

Madlib - The Beat Konducta Vol. 1-2: Movie Scenes (2006)

A Few Favorite Tracks:
Open (Space)
Sir Bang (Bounce)
Painted Pictures (Art)
Pyramids (Change)
The Comeup (The Come Down)
Whutkanido (Can Do it)
